Very good ! However I was suprised that the cpm154cm out preformed the others in super keen edge retention. We didn't push the edges past shaving sharp as the guides were quite spoiled and would hand them back to me as soon as they slowed down a bit and quit preforming optimally.
Bear are tough and really take an edge off of a knife in a hurry!

In case anyone is wondering Ken's skinner design known as the Unusual is the knife we are talking about. Ken went on a bear hunt in Alaska with about 25 soldiers from the Paralized Veterans Association (PVA). During the trip he decided to do a little experiment by making several of the Unusuals out of different steels and making them so close to each other that the only person who knew which one was which was Ken and letting the guides use them to skin the bears out. The harvested something like 18 bears total and this trip allowed him a rare opportunity for an extreme single blind experiment where they had no clue which knife was which.
Maybe we can get Ken to post a picture of the knives and some of the trip.
Oh and to top it off Ken took his son on the trip so he could learn about the PVA and have a once in a lifetime trip with his dad. And to highlight it all his son harvested the biggest bear.
Glad you are back Ken.
