Chinese knock-offs?
There is a show on dish network called "Cutlery Corner" that is selling what looks like kershaw/Onion copies that have the speed safe mechanism. Thing is, I haven't bought one because I don't buy Chinese knives. Just from the looks and the way they open, I'd bet they are knockoffs with a torsion bar.
